First and foremost I consider myself to be an artist second I consider myself to be a Freelance Designer but I do both with the same intensity. I do like to take on commissions in watercolor and you can contact me if you may be interested at acie@acievincent.com. This site is all about my art so I have decided that my freelance work in graphic design and website design count as art also and I will be posting on that front also from time to time. If you are interested you can view my portfolio site at www.acievincent.com.
I am originally from North Carolina but I live in Florida these days. I do like the warm weather here in Florida. Most of the art I create is centered around my life spent in North Carolina but I am slowly finding new and interesting subjects in Florida.
I was born and raised in the Piedmont area of North
Carolina and have lived most of my life there. I guess what I am saying is I
was born a North Carolina Redneck. The Piedmont area is right in the middle of
the state and is an easy drive to the coast or the mountains a few hours either
way. So basically I had the best of both worlds. My mother’s family was a big
one and were mostly farmers raising Tobacco, Pigs and vegetables of all kinds.
I remember spending time in the big gardens picking vegetables and occasionally
bacca bugs off the tobacco and throwing them on the ground where they exploded.
I can still remember my Aunt Lorene churning butter or with her hatchet going
to harvest the Chickens and the time in the fall when the pigs were
slaughtered. And of being hung on the big hook where the tobacco was weighed by
my britches by the older cousins. Some of my favorite times center around
hunting, frog gigging, fishing and working in my garden. I love to cook also and I am writing a cookbook in my spare time. If you are interested in learning about my alter ego "The Redneck Chef" you can check out some really good recipes at my other blog here. http://redneckchefrecipies.blogspot.com/
Any way you look at it I like to be creative and would love to have your thoughts and comments. Enjoy my art and share it with others if you feel the need.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you all.
Sincerely,
Acie Vincent
